Post 5 : A photograph

Hi   bloggers :  I've got several favourite photos, but this one is particularly special to me , since it reminds me of my best New year's Eve. It was taken  on the way to Venice , Italy on December 31, 1993. I was with some very good Italian friends:  (from left to right, Paco, myself, Luna , Anna and Fabio) .While travelling  in two cars, midnight caught us in the middle of the highway, fireworks were set off and all cars stopped in the middle of the highway. People you'd never seen before  started to hug each other,, wishing  you a very happy new year. It was amazing !! Everybody took out lots of bottles of any drink and .toasted. . I don't remember who took this picture , but it was a very good celebration.  What about you? Do you like photos? Why?  I'm sure you must have  a favourite picture. Today I'll ask you to  upload  and write about a photograph you like and say who took it? What does it show? When was it taken? Why do you like it? Include any other information you'd like to mention.Write at least 150 words. Don't forget to add comments to my blog and 3 of your classmates’ ones.  C U soon.

Post 4 : Music

JOAN MANUEL SERRAT | Sotaque & Corazón

Hi guys : How have you been doing? I hope you're fine! Today's blog  corresponds to one of the topics you usually mention as a favourite one: MUSIC. To be honest, I must admit that I don't know much about music, I mean, I like some singers or bands , but I can't explain why or what  music style it is : I simply have no idea about it.. I like it just because . That's it!  During  my university years, I  mainly listened to music that was politically biased: Inti Illimani, Victor Jara, Quilapayún, Merecdes Sosa , and also some Brazilian musicians, such as : Chico Buarque, Maria Betanha, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento etc.  I just started listening to other types of music , specially English singers, just after democracy came, that is in the 90's. Then I discovered  English rock , like ; Queen, Bruce Springsteen, Genesis,  Police, etc and in recent times , Adelle,  and Amy Winehouse. But  , if I've got to mention ONE favourite composer  undoubtedly, the best one in Spanish language is , Joan Manuel Serrat. Probably, none of you have ever heard about him because he's too old for you,. However, in my opinion he's the best composer in Spanish  only comparable to Chico Buarque in Brazil.  What about you? what kind of music do you prefer? Who are your favourite singers? bands? Use  140 words   and don't forget to leave comments on 3 of your classmates' blogs  AND mine too. See you.

Post 3 : Your favourite piece of technology

Resultado de imagen para technology

Hi everyone :  Although my generation had to get used to  technology and internet  all of a sudden, I  - personally , have become  very dependant on it: I can't imagine planning a class  without a computer and internet, for instance.  The same happens when thinking about my free time: a smart tv and  a smartphone  have become indispensable objects that I use everyday during working days or holidays.  Therefore, if I'm asked about my favourite piece of technology, I'd definitely say , my computer. I use it to work, watch series, browse for internet  information  (much faster than doing it on a tv set)  also contact my foreign  friends via skype, etc.etc. . What about you? What is your most indispensable piece of technology? I mean the one you can't imagine your studies, work  or life without.  Write  about that / those piece (s) of technology explaining why they are so important to you. Describe them and the different things you do with it, etc. Use a mínimum of 140 words. Don't forget to leave comments on  my blog and  3 of your classmates' too. . See you.

Post 2 : Why did you choose your career?

Resultado de imagen para career options after high school

Hi bloggers: When I was at school I used to dream about becoming a simultaneous interpreter at the United Nations  in New York, since I 've always enjoyed learning foreign languages and, mainly because I was only 16 years old  at that time. So my decision was crystal clear , I had to study Translation at Universidad Católica - the only place  to study it  at that time. However, 3 months before taking the test  , the career was closed. I was devastated because that was my only option. Finally , I decided to enter  English Teaching and then change  to Translation internally. I was admitted , BUT to change to Translation was almost impossible. Then , after  getting depressed, a teacher helped me to understand that I had to go on with teaching, since a teacher can do both things: translating and teaching, whereas a translator can't work as a teacher. From then on, I started enjoying this career. I think I've been successful with it and can do both activities without any problems. What about you? What were your dream jobs when you were a child? Did you have any other options that you had at the moment of applying to university? What made you decide in the end? What about your experience at university until now?  What kind of job would you like to have in the future?  Use 130 words and don't forget to leave comments on 3 of your classmates' blogs and also your teacher's. See you.

Hi bloggers:  How is it going today? Fine? Good! Today we're going to start blogging and I hope you enjoy it just as I do.  Well, the blog you have for this week is  to  write about yourselves, that is, an autobiography. I can say that personally, I was born in Santiago a veeery  looong time ago. I studied my primary and secondary school in  religious schools. Later I entered Universidad Catolica , where I graduated as a teacher of English and finished a Master in Linguistics some years later. My family is very small: just my mum  and  a younger  sister, who is a journalist. My father died some years ago . My main hobbies are swimming, travelling, watching films, reading  and  clubbing  with some friends. What about you? Include  information about your birth, studies, family, hobbies and any other information you consider important. Use 120 words minimum and don't forget to make comments on three of your classmates' blogs. C U.
